Cristin L. Rothfuss serves as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Sarepta Therapeutics Inc., a precision genetic medicine company dedicated to developing therapies for rare diseases, particularly Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). She joined Sarepta in 2015 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and was promoted to her current executive role in recognition of her strategic leadership. Rothfuss oversees all legal, compliance, intellectual property, and corporate governance functions, playing a pivotal role in guiding the company through complex regulatory landscapes, strategic partnerships, and high-stakes litigation. Her expertise ensures Sarepta's innovative pipeline advances while maintaining rigorous ethical and legal standards. Prior to Sarepta, Rothfuss built an illustrious career in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. She spent a decade at Genzyme Corporation (now part of Sanofi), rising to Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, where she managed global legal operations, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property strategies during a period of rapid growth and the landmark acquisition by Sanofi. Earlier, she was an associate at Hale and Dorr LLP (now WilmerHale), specializing in life sciences transactions. Rothfuss holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from the University of Michigan, blending academic excellence with practical acumen honed over two decades in the industry. Under Rothfuss's stewardship, Sarepta has achieved transformative milestones, including the FDA approval of multiple DMD therapies such as EXONDYS 51, VYONDYS 53, and AMONDYS 45, navigating unprecedented regulatory challenges and orphan drug designations. She has been instrumental in securing key collaborations, such as with Roche, and defending intellectual property in landmark cases, solidifying Sarepta's position as a leader in RNA-targeted therapeutics. Her contributions have not only driven commercial success but also advanced patient access to life-changing treatments.
