From 2010 to 2021, Dr. Nabel served as the President of Harvard University-affiliated Brigham Health, which includes Brigham and Women's Hospital, Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, and the Brigham and Women's Physician Organization, and includes operating inpatient and outpatient facilities, clinics, primary care health centers, and diagnostic and treatment technologies, research laboratories, and postgraduate medical and scientific education and training programs. Dr. Nabel was also a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School from 2010 to 2021. Following her retirement from Brigham Health, Dr. Nabel served as Executive Vice President for Strategy at ModeX Therapeutics, from 2021 to 2022, when the company was acquired by OPKO Health, Inc. Following the acquisition, Dr. Nabel also served as Chief Medical Officer for OPKO Health until August 2023. She now serves as a senior advisor for ModeX Therapeutics and its parent company, OPKO Health, which focus on immunotherapies for cancer and infectious disease. Previously, Dr. Nabel held a variety of roles, including Director of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health from 1999 to 2009.
