Jeff Norman serves as Chief Financial Officer of Extra Space Storage REIT Inc., the largest owner and operator of self-storage properties in the United States. With more than 25 years of experience in real estate finance and accounting, Jeff joined the company in 2007 from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he was a partner in the national real estate practice. There, he advised leading REITs and real estate firms on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and financial reporting. A Certified Public Accountant, Jeff earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University and brings deep expertise in SEC compliance, investor relations, and strategic financial planning to his role. As CFO, Jeff oversees all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including treasury, tax, accounting, and risk management. He has played a pivotal role in Extra Space Storage’s growth, guiding major initiatives such as the $13.3 billion merger with Life Storage in 2023, numerous property acquisitions, and successful equity and debt offerings that expanded the portfolio to over 3,700 facilities across 42 states. Under his leadership, the company has maintained strong financial discipline, delivering consistent shareholder value and navigating market challenges with innovative capital strategies. Jeff’s achievements have been recognized industry-wide, including his contributions to Extra Space Storage’s inclusion in the S&P 500 and its reputation for operational excellence. Committed to corporate governance, he serves on the board of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and actively mentors emerging finance professionals in the self-storage sector.
