There, she spearheaded legal strategies for multi-billion-dollar mergers and acquisitions, such as the integration of Goldcorp, and navigated complex international regulatory landscapes, earning recognition for her role in securing key approvals and mitigating litigation risks. Her achievements include leading the legal team through successful financings raising over $1 billion and implementing robust ESG compliance frameworks that positioned Newmont as an industry leader in sustainable mining practices. At Dakota Gold, Koenig oversees all legal functions, including corporate governance, contract negotiations, securities compliance, and stakeholder relations, playing a pivotal role in the company's aggressive exploration programs and resource expansion. Under her guidance, Dakota Gold has advanced permitting for its flagship Maitland and Richmond Hill projects while maintaining a strong commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship, positioning the company for long-term growth in the competitive gold sector.
