Keith L. Schilling is a distinguished technology leader with more than three decades of expertise in advanced materials science and engineering. Holding a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a B.S. from the University of Michigan, Schilling began his career at DuPont, where he spearheaded the development of high-performance polymer composites and nanomaterials. His early work earned him several patents and recognition for innovations in thermal management and lightweight materials, laying the foundation for his transition into aerogel technologies. In 2004, Schilling joined Aspen Aerogels Inc. as Vice President of Technology, advancing to Senior Vice President, Technology, a role he held until his retirement in 2021. There, he led the company's research and development, engineering, and technology commercialization teams, driving the scale-up of aerogel blanket production from pilot to industrial volumes.
