Mahbod Nia has led Veris Residential as Chief Executive Officer since March 2021. He was appointed to the Company s Board of Directors in 2020 and is a member of the Strategic Review Committee. Mr. Nia has 25 years of experience spanning real estate investment, debt and advisory. He has intimate knowledge of the real estate investment management sector, having previously served as CEO of a publicly traded REIT where he oversaw a strategic transformation that drove per share net asset value growth of over 40% as well as the successful sale of the business, which resulted in realizing a 16% IRR. Prior to joining Veris Residential, Mr. Nia served as Chief Executive Officer of NorthStar Realty Europe Corp (NYSE:NRE), a REIT focused on European properties, from 2015 to 2019. He was also a member of NRE s investment committee and Board of Directors from 2018 to 2019. Earlier, Mr. Nia served as Managing Director, Head of European Investments of NorthStar Asset Management Group ( NSAM ) from 2014 to 2017, where he established the company s European investment platform, rapidly growing it to $2.6bn in assets under management across nine countries and five asset classes.
