Admiral William H. McRaven has been appointed to our board of directors effective May 1, 2026. Mr. McRaven currently serves on the board of directors of ConocoPhillips, a public company, and has, within the last five years, served on the advisory board of Palantir Technologies Inc., a public company. He also serves on the advisory board of Haveli Investments and several private and non-profit boards, including the Council on Foreign Relations, the National Football Foundation, the International Crisis Group and The Mission Continues. Mr. McRaven is a Senior Advisor at Lazard Financial, a preeminent financial advisory and asset management firm, a position he has held since 2021, and a Professor of national security at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He previously served as Chancellor of the University of Texas System from January 2014 until May 2018. He is also a retired U.S. Navy Four-Star Admiral (SEAL). During his time in the military, he commanded special operations forces at every level, eventually taking charge of all U.S. Special Operations. His military career included combat during Desert Storm and both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Mr. McRaven is a recognized national authority on U.S. foreign policy and has advised Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama and other U.S. leaders on defense issues. Mr. McRaven received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and received a Master's degree from the Naval Postgraduate School.
