Since 2019, Mr. Whitman has served as CEO of Colmar Holdings LLC (a private company) and member of the Board of Directors of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc. (N asdaq :FOLD) (Audit & Compliance Committee; Nominating & Governance Committee). Previously Mr. Whitman served in business and the military concurrently. In the military, he served as an infantry, reconnaissance, and general officer of U.S. Marines from 1985 to 2019, both active duty and reserve; he commanded forces at every level, led multiple combat deployments, and conducted a final period of active duty from 2009 to 2018 during which he led more deployments and served as the Commanding General of a Marine Division and of Marine Forces, and as a General Officer with the Secretary of Defense. In business, he served as CEO, Board Director and initially COO of Health Management Associates, Inc. (then NYSE:HMA) from 2005 to 2008, CFO of Triad Hospitals (then NYSE:TRI) from 1998 to 2005, and President and Board Director of Deerfield Healthcare (then a private company) from 1994 to 1998. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, where he is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, the Board of the Nashotah Theological Seminary, the Board of Directors of the Buckhead Coalition, where he also serves as a member of the Executive Committee, and as a member of the Piedmont Healthcare Foundation Board. He has served previously on the Reserve Forces Policy Board (Advisor to the Secretary of Defense), the Board of Directors of the Toys for Tots Foundation (Chair of the Investment Committee), the Board of Directors of the Federation of American Hospitals (Chair of the Audit Committee) and the Board of Trustees of the Lovett School, now a Lifetime Trustee.
