Mr. Akradi has served as a director since July 2017, was appointed lead independent director of our company in December 2017, and was appointed non-executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors in January 2018. Mr. Akradi founded Life Time, Inc. (formerly Life Time Fitness, Inc.) in 1992 and has served as its Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer since May 1996. When Life Time was taken private in 2015, Mr. Akradi became Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Life Time Group Holdings, Inc., the parent entity to Life Time, Inc. Life Time Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: LTH) completed its initial public offering in October 2021 and Mr. Akradi continues to serve as its Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. In connection with the initial public offering, Mr. Akradi was also appointed to serve on the Compensation Committee and chair the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of the Board of Directors of Life Time Group Holdings, Inc.
