Jay C. Hartzell is the President of Southern Methodist University. He previously served as the President of the University of Texas at Austin from 2020 until 2025. Prior to that, he was the Dean of the McCombs School of Business, one of the nation's largest and most prestigious business schools, where he served as a faculty member for more than 20 years. He started his academic career as an assistant professor of finance at New York University's Stern School of Business. As a senior university administrator and an experienced academic, Dr. Hartzell provides our Board with expertise on business organization, governance, real estate finance and corporate finance matters.
