Born on September 3, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, Mansueto graduated from the University of Chicago with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He began his career in the investment industry working for Harris Associates, a Chicago-based investment firm. In 2005, Morningstar went public, and Mansueto's leadership was instrumental in the company's successful IPO. He stepped down as CEO in 2017 to focus on his role as Executive Chairman, where he continues to guide the company's strategic direction and long-term vision. In addition to his work at Morningstar, Joe Mansueto is known for his philanthropy and civic engagement. He and his wife, Rika, established the Mansueto Foundation, which supports education, health care, and journalism initiatives.
