Bill Lyons was appointed to the Board in September 2007. He served as president and chief executive officer of American Century Companies, Inc., an investment management company, from September 2000 until his retirement in March 2007. From 1987 to 2000, he served in other capacities at American Century Companies, Inc., including as general counsel, chief operating officer, and president. During his time at American Century, he served on the board of the Investment Company Institute in Washington, D.C. and was appointed to several special task forces that developed best practices for mutual fund governance. He is active in civic and non-profit organizations in the greater Kansas City area, including current service on three non-profit boards and four investment committees overseeing endowment and foundation assets.
