Mr. Finnerty previously served as a member of the Human Capital and Compensation Committee from 2014 until May 2023 and its Chairperson from February 2020 until May 2023. Mr. Finnerty has over 40 years of experience leading businesses in the petroleum and refining industry. From 2011 until 2012, he served as a member of the board of directors of CVR Energy Inc. (NYSE: CVI) where he chaired the environmental, health and safety committee and was a member of the nominating and corporate governance committee. Prior to retiring from Tesoro Corporation in 2010, he served as its executive vice president, strategy and corporate development and as its chief operating officer. Mr. Finnerty served on the board of directors of the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (now known as the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers) from 2005 to 2010 and was its vice chairman from 2007 to 2010. Mr. Finnerty s career began with Texaco, Inc. in 1970. Since then, he also held executive positions with Equiva Trading Company and Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX).
