Holding a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, Henris began his career with roles at major producers such as Placer Dome and Kinross Gold Corporation, where he advanced through progressively senior positions in open-pit and underground mining. His expertise spans operational optimization, safety management, and large-scale project execution across North America. Henris's notable achievements include his tenure as Vice President of Operations at Nevada Gold Mines, the world's largest gold mining complex and a joint venture between Barrick Gold and Newmont Corporation. There, he oversaw the Cortez and Turquoise Ridge operations, delivering record production levels, implementing cost-saving technologies that reduced operating expenses by 20%, and achieving a 50% reduction in safety incidents through innovative protocols. Earlier, at Kinross, he led the Bald Mountain mine to peak performance, enhancing resource recovery and operational efficiency. As President and Chief Operating Officer of Dakota Gold Corp., Henris directs all aspects of the company's exploration, development, and production activities in South Dakota's prolific Homestake District. He has been pivotal in advancing high-grade projects like Maitland and Richmond Hill toward feasibility, securing key partnerships, and building a world-class team. Under his leadership, Dakota Gold has rapidly expanded its resource base and positioned itself for near-term production, leveraging Henris's proven track record to drive sustainable growth and shareholder value.
