He previously served as Assistant to the President for Manufacturing Policy where he provided leadership on policy development and strategic planning for the Obama Administration s agenda to revitalize the manufacturing sector. Before joining the White House, Mr. Bloom served as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury from 2009-2011, where he helped lead the reorganizations of both General Motors and Chrysler. He previously served as Special Assistant to the President of the USW from 1996-2009. Mr. Bloom earned his Bachelor degree from Wesleyan University and his Master of Business Administration degree, with Distinction, from the Harvard Business School.
