Denise W. Warren is a seasoned executive with over three decades of experience in finance, operations, and leadership within the senior living and healthcare sectors. She served as Interim Chief Executive Officer and President of Brookdale Senior Living Inc., the nation's largest operator of senior living communities, from October 2018 to May 2019. During this critical transitional period, Warren provided steady leadership, guiding the company through operational challenges, financial restructuring, and strategic initiatives to enhance resident care and community performance. Her tenure focused on stabilizing the organization amid industry shifts, leveraging her deep expertise to foster resilience and long-term growth. Prior to her CEO role, Warren joined Brookdale in 2014 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, where she oversaw financial strategy, investor relations, and capital allocation for a portfolio exceeding 1,000 communities. Before Brookdale, she held the position of Executive Vice President and CFO at Sunrise Senior Living, managing finances for one of the largest senior living providers. Earlier in her career, Warren was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, advising healthcare and real estate clients, and held senior finance roles at ARV Assisted Living and Marriott Senior Living Services. Warren's achievements include driving significant cost efficiencies, improving liquidity positions, and supporting mergers and acquisitions that expanded service offerings.
