Dr. Henry has served as the Class of 1984 Senior Fellow at Stanford University s Hoover Institution and Senior Fellow at Stanford s Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies since September 2022. Previously, Dr. Henry served at New York University s Leonard N. Stern School of Business as William R. Berkley Professor of Economics and Finance from January 2018 through August 2022 and as Dean from January 2010 through December 2017. Before that, Dr. Henry was the Konosuke Matsushita Professor of International Economics at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Dr. Henry currently serves as Chair of the Board of the National Bureau of Economic Research and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In addition, Dr. Henry leads the Ph.D. Excellence Initiative (PhDEI), a post-baccalaureate program designed to address underrepresentation in economics by mentoring exceptional students from underrepresented backgrounds interested in pursuing doctoral studies in the field. For his founding and leadership of the PhDEI, Dr. Henry received the 2022 Impactful Mentoring Award from the American Economic Association. Dr. Henry brings to our Board of Directors extensive foreign affairs, global economics, and international finance experience.
